We have all heard the saying, "The show must go on!" However, that phrase does not register well in some churches.There has been a shift in our church culture to be missional minded...and guess what? Some church consumers might not like it.
In the Fall issue of Leadership Magazine, Pastor Walter Kallestad shares an interesting insights into the transition and leadership shift his church made from performance to mission. Kallestad is pastor of Community Church of Joy in Phoenix Arizona. In the article Kallestad said, "We didn't need to tweak our methodology, we needed a modelectomy. If we were to transform our people from consumers to empowered disciples, we need radical changes."
